I am delighted to invite our global community of World Energy Council members, other energy industry stakeholders, business leaders, energy ministers and other government officials, energy experts, Future Energy Leaders, innovators and investors to participate in our 2018 World Energy Week, which will take place from 8-11 October in Milan, Italy.
The World Energy Week features topical workshops, Standing Committee and regional meetings, the Executive Assembly, a World Energy Leaders’ Summit, an Energy Transition Summit, a chance to hear about the Italian energy sector and numerous networking opportunities and social events. Discussions will focus on the massive transformation which the energy sector is undergoing, and participants can explore the most critical and relevant energy issues keeping energy leaders awake at night, learn how countries are adapting their energy policies to provide for a sustainable energy future, hear from energy leaders about the potential options and impacts of choices they are making now to address the energy challenges of the future and see how exciting ideas like blockchain and digitalisation as well as how rapid progress in energy storage systems are reshaping the energy industry and beyond.
Finally, we will offer a “first look” at the programme for our 24th World Energy Congress which will take from 7-14 September 2019, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and will also provide an update on how we are reshaping our priorities to better address our mission of promoting a sustainable energy future.
I look forward to seeing all of you in Milan for our 2018 World Energy Week.
